OLAJUMOKE, A MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER?

"Baybay, lemme be a TY Bello to your Olajumoke"
Talent Managers, that's a free pick up line there for you, lol.

"Oh God of Olajumoke, as I go out today, may I photobomb my way to destiny. Lord, every Okada man that wants to cover my glory, Holy Ghost fire, consume them. Consume them, consume them, consume them" - The Bread Seller's prayer

"My Father, my Father, every Olajumoke that wants to photobomb and steal my glory, Father let them arrive too late to the scene. Father, send them a customer that will buy 50 Naira bread and give them 1000 Naira. Do it, Lord, do it!" ~ The Okada man's prayer.

Oya, you help me with the TY Bello prayer, the Tinie's prayer and the "Mallam"'s prayer.

So, in less than 1 month, Olajumoke has gone from an obscure bread seller to a model/brand ambassador of internatonal repute. She didn't participate in any audition and she didn't go through elimination stages. She didn't need the audience to vote for her. She didn't emerge winner in controversial circumstances.
She simply woke up one "fateful" day and did what she did the day before and was guided by "Unseen Hands" to the place of her transformation.
So, I assume we all know the story. For the benefit of my children and grandchildren that will read this in future, by God's grace and for those that may have had their head buried in books, studying for exams (that's the ONLY acceptable excuse for not knowing what's up if you are alive and living in Nigeria on this 18th day of February, 2016)...

TY Bello was having a photo shoot with Tinie and was trying to capture the Okada man (to make the picture have "street cred") when Olajumoke unknowingly photobombed one of the shots.
While editing the pictures, TY Bello saw the picture and decided to find Olajumoke. So TY Bello put out the picture on social media, asking who knows this Bread Seller. A "Mallam" saw the picture and showed Olajumoke, who then contacted TY Bello. FYI, "Mallam" actually means "Teacher", but you know our ways na - Every Hausa man who owns a kiosk is an "Aboki" (my friend) or a "Mallam". That was the turning point in Olajumoke's life. She signed a modelling contract, a company rented an apartment for her and her family. Endorsement deals are pouring in for her. Of course, some have unsolicited marital advice for her and those favoring her to also help her husband so that she doesn't earn too much more than him and lose her marriage *eye roll*

Then, some said the make-up in her first photo shoot was too much (Yeah, I'm one of that "some"). Then we heard StanBic IBTC had signed her on. So, we started asking when TY is having her next photo shoot (so we can also photobomb our way to the top). We even advised Kanye to try the Olajumoke move to get Mark Zuckerberg to help him out of his $53 million debt.

Linda Ikeji and her alleged fake Hermes bags couldn't distract us from Olajumoke's story. A sharp person made her a motivational speaker in their program themed "If we were government"...Then we ruled that "E don do" while running free advert for the program.

I'll like to hear Olajumoke's voice. I missed the CNN story so I can't tell if she spoke or not. She can't smile through a motivational speech...The language with which she communicates is not as important to me as the message of hope she represents in this era. She'll eventually learn poise but that only helps with communicating better.

If the only thing she talks about is a chronicle of the events that led her to a) photobomb the picture and b) meet TY Bello, that's motivational enough for me. Besides, she doesn't need a Harvard education to tell us what she'll do if she were the government. After all, we learnt recently that a bread label/NEPA bill is sufficient to rule Nigeria. I'm sure she has enough bread labels. #PunIntended

I'm doubly pleased that the TY Bello part shows that not all women wound other women (Shout out to the WWW clan). Some women build up other women; I know a lot of such women...(Unfortunately, I know more than my fair share of members of the WWW clan too)...

Olajumoke is motivational enough for me...I can't speak for you...

Enjoy your day.

HOLD IT!

You're going on and on about how no one cares about you and how no one checks up on you. No one wants to help YOU...Bla Bla Bla Pause...

How many people have YOU checked up on? How many people have YOU helped? How many others have YOU helped achieve their dreams? Many times, just a click, a chat, a phone call is all that it'll take you to help someone achieve his or her dreams. But you're too self-centered to notice the needs of others and to reach out.

You want your congregation/group members etc to be committed to your vision. You want to do this and do that etc. Have you asked if they've paid their house rent?

You expect others to prioritize YOUR needs over theirs. Why? Some will manipulate others with "The will of the Lord"... Kontiniu...

Dale Carnegie nailed it when he said " People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care" (How to win friends and influence people). If you haven't read that book and you're hoping to influence others...Hurry and get your copy. There's a lot to learn...

No matter how "noble" your objectives are, until you begin to care for others, you can't go far. Ministry is all about meeting the needs of God's people and TRUSTING GOD to meet yours. Manipulating others to get them to meet YOUR needs is erm, MANIPULATION (Except if you're paying. Then that's called BUSINESS, lol).

Enjoy your day.

Your Click, Your Choice

Unfortunately, there are "bad" men just like there are "bad" women. If you're quick to point out the "badness" in the opposite sex while claiming that those of your gender are always the victims, I'm looking at you "one kain" already.

It's great to hear stories about good men/women. I'll be happy to share both on my wall and on my page. You and I know, though, that you're more likely to read a story about a man that turned up dead after collecting a handkerchief from attractive woman than you are to read about a happy marriage.

In fact, a friend carried out a social experiment...She has been blogging since 2008. The most viewed blog post on her blog is one titled "Caught in the act...and killed" (She was actually talking about cockroaches)...  Blog posts/articles with 'clean'/happy themes don't usually get many clicks; commercial bloggers need clicks to get paid...What you reward (with your clicks) is what gets repeated. If you want more "happy" stories, vote with your click. If not, please don't whine about negativity...It's literally in your hands...

I know this because I'm a blogger. I'm happy to inform, though, that I don't pay my bills with blogging so I can afford to pick and choose...It'll be nice to make money blogging/on social media (any money I make online goes to NGOs/causes I support anyway) but that it's the main reason why I do what I do. .

I learnt (from my husband) never to look down on others because their choices are different from mine so I won't villify any blogger/writer that pushes out what will get them clicks/views. I won't even tell anyone how to use their data...Those that concern me are those that donate their clicks/views to bad news then turn around to whine about "all the negativity" around...

How has your day been?

GO INTO THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL

So, Kirk Franklin took A PICTURE with Kanye West (and apparently, it found its way online) and some Christians are upset. Really?
Kanye doesn't sing Christian songs and he could very well be a blasphemer. If Jesus mingled publicly with publicans and sinners, who are you following when you want to commit suicide because a believer took a picture with someone you've judged to be a blasphemer? Are you a Pharisee or a Sadducee?

If Kirk was being criticized for featuring in a Kanye West video where the name of the Lord was being blasphemed, the outrage would have made sense to me.

We need to leave the "Upper Room" gathering mentality and go into the world to preach this gospel. God is counting on us. We are to OCCUPY till He comes. Of course, we should not forsake the gathering of believers. However, if you spend all your time, online and offline ONLY with believers, you are NOT doing the will of the Father. If you spend all your time, online and offline, ONLY in the company of unbelievers, you're NOT doing the will of the Father either...

The words that I received to share this morning are:
1. Preach the gospel, in and out of season.
2. OCCUPY till He comes...

Enjoy your day.

Sir, Are You A (High) Priest?

I'm reading Leviticus 21 and I can see that God expected the High Priest to marry a virgin. He also had other strict requirements for the High Priest. So far, it's only the High Priest that is not permitted to marry any woman that is not a virgin. The other priests were not to marry anyone who was defiled by prostitution or divorcees.

So, sir, if you're giving all these requirements for your "Dear Future Wife", I hope you're meeting the requirements for (High) priests. Otherwise, you may want to check the word "hypocrisy" in the dictionary...

Dear Non-Virgin, God loves you and will settle you, if you trust Him. Stay tuned and I'll prove it to you. Dear Virgin, God loves you and will like you to know that though keeping one's virginity is a good thing, it doesn't give you the pass to neglect other areas of your character. Also, be aware that Jesus told us about some foolish virgins...So....

In a totally unrelated gist, I'm trying hard not to laugh at the dude that has so many unnecessary "H"s in his name but has been sending me "elo" messages for over 2 months now. I've finally responded with a "Hello"...I hope he picks it up from there...

Enjoy your day...

Question and Appeal

Good morning. Like that, like that it's Saturday...I have a function to attend but this bed will not allow me stand up...Please bed, let Hephzibah go that she may attend the function. Tenkiu

I have a question and an appeal. Which one do you want to hear first? Don't worry, I'll help you answer that...So, here's the question...Why do organizations spend so much money to print envelopes, fliers etc for Appeal Funds? Am I the only one that thinks they could have spent less on fancy envelopes etc and put whatever could have been saved into the cause they're asking for funds for? Na question I ask o...Lol.

My appeal goes to debtors. If you're owing anyone money, please pay up. If, due to circumstances beyond your control, you're unable to pay up, please have a honest discussion with your creditor(s) and agree on a realistic repayment plan. Don't change your address and phone number because you don't want to pay. Also, it is unfair for you to be "living large" while owing. Please save yourself the energy you'll have to spend hiding your new car/house/clothes/shoes from your creditors and pay your debt...

So, is anyone participating in the marathon? Are you attending a function? Are you spending the day indoors? Let's gist jere. Thank God it's Saturday.
